Benzinga Highlights Whimstay’s $10 Million Raise

Whimstay has done it again! Our recent fundraising success has caught the attention of Benzinga writer Chris Bibey.

Whimstay, a last-minute vacation rental booking platform, has raised $10m in equity financing from private investors to accelerate its growth. The company, which previously raised $1.7m on crowdfunding platform StartEngine, aims to use the investment to fund new hires and develop new products, with a focus on search experience, pricing, and enhanced loyalty and rewards programs.

Despite the challenging market conditions of the travel industry, Whimstay has succeeded in securing the financing needed to expand its business. The company aims to help property owners and managers book nights that would otherwise go unrented, and lost revenue in the vacation rental market represents a $60bn opportunity.

“Closing our financing amidst a myriad of extremely challenging market conditions is a testament to the caliber of our amazing team, our differentiated product offering, the quality of our partner and customer relationships, the size of our market opportunity, and the confidence our investors have in our ability to strengthen our position as the leading vacation rental marketplace focused on booking last-minute stays,” Whimstay CEO David Weiss said.

Whimstay has experienced significant growth this year, with bookings up seven times year-to-date compared to the same period in 2022, and March being the company’s highest booking month in its history. The company has also integrated into Google Vacation Rentals, giving it access to millions of potential guests.
